MPD Chaplain Program

The Menomonie Police Department is proud to announce the Chaplain Program that officially began February 16, 2004.  The Chaplain Program is a coordinated effort between the Menomonie Police Department and volunteer local pastors in the community to assist families and officers during periods of crisis and other stressful situations.  The chaplains will provide comfort, help, counseling, ministry, and spiritual guidance to the citizens of Menomonie and to department personnel and their families, if they desire.

All pastors selected by the Department for the Chaplain Program volunteered their time for the program.  Pastors selected for the program must have been ordained, ecclesiastically certified, or endorsed by a recognized religious body and have had a minimum of three years service in the ministry.  All chaplains underwent an intensive background check and received further training within the Department.

The pastors selected for the Chaplain Program are:

Pastor David Whelan, Peace Lutheran Church

Pastor Marilynn Rushton, United Methodist Church

Pastor Geoffrey Scott, Christ Lutheran Church

Pastor Wes Harper, Church of the Nazarene

For further information on the Chaplain Program, please contact Sgt. Rick Hollister at (715) 232-2198.
